Tesla Model S Plaid
Tesla went for speed with the redesigning of the Tesla Model S this time. This beast can now go from 0mph to 60mph in just under 2 seconds. The top speed of the Plaid version of the Tesla Model S is said to be 200mph. It can run for almost 400 miles in a single charge, as claimed by Tesla. The current Tesla Model S goes for around $129,990.
Ford F-150 Lightning
Ford F-150 is one of the most popular pickups in the world. By taking the popularity of the vehicle in mind, Ford is releasing the electric version of the car. Ford is saying that its electric F-150 pickup will start from $40,000. The range of the F-150 Lightning will be around 230 miles. Ford announced the vehicle in May, but the first batch of electric trucks will reach consumers in 2022.
Chevy Silverado EV
Well, seeing that Ford is releasing Lightning, GM (General Motors) is responding with their own EV version of the Chevy Silverado. General Motors hasn’t shared much information about the truck, since its announcement in April. We know that it will be using the Ultium, GM’s modular battery platform, which provides 400 miles of range.
BMW iX
BMWs iX was inspired by “iNext Concept Car.” It is a dual-motor luxury electric vehicle, which will cost you around $83,200. BMW iX supports fast charging and can go for 300 miles long journeys on a single charge. It won’t arrive until next year though.
Hyundai Ioniq 5
Hyundai promises two years of free charging on Electrify America network when the car will be launched later this month or in the first quarter of the next year. The Hyundai’s Iconiq 5 is a compact SUV that can give a range of 300 miles on a single juice up.
Kia EV 6
This is Kia’s first stand-alone EV, which doesn’t have a gas-powered counterpart. Iconiq 5 will offer 315 miles of range and will cost around $56.000.The car will not make it into the US market until the first half of the year 2022. Kia started delivering the EV in October to European and South Korean customers.
Subaru Solterra
Subaru is partnering with Toyota, hybrid Prius fame, and going electric to launch an all-electric SUV in the coming year of 2022. This will be the first electric car for the Japanese car manufacturer, Subaru.
GMC Hummer SUV
Hummer “super-truck” was revived time and time again last year. The first edition of the truck is already sold out and will be delivered to consumers in 2023. The first edition of the Hummer EV costs $105,595. The base variant of the electric Hummer won’t arrive up until 2024, but the pricing of the truck is in the range of $79,995. The new electric Hummer has a removable glass roof and can drive diagonally.
Audi Q4 E-Tron
Audi Q4 E-Tron is the new iteration of the first electric vehicle by Audi, E-Tron. With a sloped back windshield, the new E-Tron looks sportier. Audi is launching the car in the European market and will bring it to the US market by the end of the year for $45,000. The first E-Tron was sold at a price of $66,000, which was much higher compared to the new price. The Audi Q4 E-Tron can go up to 323 miles on a single charge.
Canoo Pickup Truck
Ford wasn’t alone with Ford F-150 Lightning this year to launch an electric truck. The Electric Vehicle startup, Canoo, showed its mini electric pickup truck. The main highlight of this EV is that it can be customized as per the requirement with the help of, moving parts installed in the vehicle. Canoo pickup truck is expected to launch in the first half of the next year. The range of the vehicle is expected to be 200 miles.
Genesis GV60
Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, is going electric without requiring any cable. The Genesis GV60 will be able to charge over a charging pad wirelessly and can give a range of 270 miles. This compact SUV will be coming to the US in 2022 with an expected price tag of $55,000. It will be released in South Korea first.
Honda Prologue
Honda is finally ready to embrace the growing market of electric vehicles with the launch of Prologue supposedly in 2024. The electric vehicle will be manufactured with the help of General Motors, but this is all we know until now concerning the upcoming first e-Honda.
